Wayne, Pa. (November 21, 2019) — Tekni-Plex’s medical business units, Dunn, Colorite and Natvar, will exhibit their latest advanced polymer compounds and tubing solutions at the Innovations in Cardiovascular Interventions (ICI) meeting in Tel Aviv, Israel, December 8-10.
Dunn manufactures precision multi-lumen tubing for steerable catheters commonly used for robotic surgery and laparoscopic devices. More recent applications include endovascular devices. Often, this type of tubing includes one or multiple inner lumens for working channels, and small lumens around the perimeter that are used for steering wires.
Dunn also manufactures custom medical tubing for diagnostic and interventional devices from a wide range of thermoplastics. These include polyether block amides (PEBAs), thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), polyamides, polyolefins and much more. Tubes are available with diameters as small as 0.008 inches (outer diameter) x 0.004-inches (inner diameter), and diameters as large as 0.480 inches. Configurations include single and multi-lumen, coextruded layers and stripes, and longitudinal wire or fiber reinforced.
Colorite advanced medical-grade compounds are used by some of the world’s foremost healthcare and medical device manufacturers. They are globally recognized for consistently meeting or surpassing rigorous regulatory and industry standards. Colorite’s extensive line of PVC and TPE medical-grade compounds have been engineered to meet product objectives. Additionally, custom compounds can be formulated.
Natvar products are produced at global locations in state-of-the-art, clean room extrusion facilities. Products include multilayer and multi-lumen tubing, as well as a range of value-added options including tapered, striped, thermoformed and special profile products.
