Wayne, Pa. (March 1, 2018) —Tekni-Plex, Inc. has announced that Steven Scott has joined the company as senior director, strategy and market development—medical. The position has been created to support the growing needs of medical technology companies.
“Tekni-Plex has earned leading positions in the medical tubing and medical compound market segments through its Natvar and Colorite business units,” said Steve Penn, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Tekni-Plex. “We did so by helping our customers solve some of their most difficult problems and then helping them grow their businesses around the world. Steve Scott’s background and experience will enable us to further help our customers grow as we work with them to develop new technologies and bring new products to market.”
Penn added that the company also envisions moving into adjacent market segments, both organically and through mergers and acquisitions, and that Scott will play a pivotal role in those efforts.
Scott brings 15-plus years of innovation-oriented, life sciences experience to Tekni-Plex. He has held executive positions with companies ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations. This includes GE Healthcare, Medtronic and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Most recently Scott was the principal at Vantage Consulting, providing services for medical device, pharmaceutical and private equity fund clients.
In his new position, Scott will be collaborating with the Natvar and Colorite business teams, the company’s new facility in China, Tekni-Plex’s Global Technology Center in Holland, Ohio, and the corporate development/mergers and acquisitions team to bring value-added solutions to the marketplace.
